RipperTrain: Southern Metal in Saskatoon

The RipperTrain sound is something they call "southern metal". Or, as one interviewer put it, "thick, meaty bass lines, catchy hooks and manly vocals." It's all about creating music that appeals on a live level - songs you can dance to, sing along to, and party to. The band members agree that performances are a primary motivation.

Denise was born in Charlottetown, PEI, grew up in North Battleford, later moved to Saskatoon (where she obtained her degrees in Education, and then Law), and currently resides in Regina. In between she also resided in Ottawa, Vancouver, and Japan. Upon moving to Regina in 2001, Denise chose to cut her job in the legal profession to part time in order to concentrate on her musical career.
